Dental Sopron

Dental implants are changing the way people live their lives and here at Dental Sopron they are fast becoming the tooth replacement option of choice for many people who have one or more missing teeth. Implants help you to chew, smile and speak with confidence. They restore your self esteem.

Dental implants are permanently inserted into the jaw. They look, feel and function like natural teeth and truly are the next best thing to having your own teeth. We can use them to replace a single missing tooth, multiple missing teeth or to secure a denture. In older patients, implants are often used to replace an entire mouthful of teeth lost to disease.

A full dental implant restoration consists of:

The dental implant
A dental implant is a small titanium post that is placed into the jaw. It acts as the root structure would for a natural tooth.

The abutment
The abutment is an attachment which connects the dental implant to a crown. The abutment will not be visible once the crown is fitted onto it.

The crown
A crown (fixed restoration) is created and placed on to the abutment. Where several teeth are missing, a bridge can placed on an implant abutment, and where all teeth are missing, removable and fixed restorations can be supported either by implants or implant bars.

Who can have implants?

Anyone who needs one tooth or more missing teeth replaced and is in good general health can have dental implants.

The procedure

The process takes a series of appointments. First, a thorough assessment of your mouth is carried out including X-ray and our lead implantologist colleague then determines the position of the implant. The soft tissues are then prepared under local anesthesia. A small hole is drilled into the jaw bone in which the dental implant is placed. The implant screw can be self-tapping, and is screwed into place at a precise torque.

After a variable amount of time to allow the bone to grow on to the surface of the implant (osseointegration), a crown or crowns can be placed on the implant.

Unlike conventional dental implants, same-day dental implants may be loaded immediately. The amount of time required to place an implant will vary depending on the quality and quantity of the bone and the difficulty of the individual situation. There are different solutions for the same status and the final decision made on the consultation.

Bone grafting will be necessary in cases where there is a lack of adequate maxillary or mandibular bone in terms of front to back (lip to tongue) depth or thickness; top to bottom height; and left to right width.

The benefits of dental implants

Dental implants are used to replace one or more teeth without affecting neighboring teeth.

They can also support a bridge and eliminate the need for a removable partial denture.

Dental implants may serve as support for a denture, making it more secure and comfortable.

Additionally, implants may be used in combination with other restorative procedures for maximum effectiveness.

When a missing tooth is replaced by an implant the bone quantity is preserved, which prevents the bone from collapsing.

Titanium implants also help preserve bone, so it is worth getting implant treatment as soon as possible after loosing a tooth.

Dental implants have been used in Hungary for over 20 years, with tens of thousands of teeth successfully implanted.

Well-designed and well-performed implantation offers a lifelong solution.
